Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Cashier to join our team at SpartanNash. As a Cashier, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, operating a cash register, and processing transactions accurately and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate a cash register and electronic scanner to process customer transactions
  • Handle customer complaints and resolve issues in a professional manner
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including the checkout area and surrounding areas
  • Process financial transactions, including cash, checks, credit cards, and other forms of payment
  • Assist customers with finding products and answering questions about store policies and procedures
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous retail or customer service experience preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask
  • Basic math skills and accuracy with handling cash and operating a cash register
Working Conditions

The Cashier will work in a retail environment with frequent standing, walking, and bending. The ability to lift up to 30 pounds and push/pull carts and equipment is required. The work environment is fast-paced and may be subject to noise and distractions.
