Job Summary

This position involves administering medications, performing therapeutic modalities, and diagnostic testing for the cardio-pulmonary system. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently or in consultation with a physician to provide high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform respiratory care to evaluate and treat patients.
  • Deliver medications via aerosol and metered dose inhalers.
  • Respond to emergency situations and provide CPR and life support systems.
  • Set up and maintain oxygen equipment according to protocol.
Additional Duties

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing patient physiological and mechanical aspects, weaning patients off ventilators, performing chest physiotherapy and airway clearance, and assessing patients to recommend appropriate therapy.

They will also perform special procedures for diagnostic and therapeutic reasons, provide supplemental oxygen, and maintain and change equipment. Additionally, they will maintain inpatient charts, clarify physician orders, and participate in quality assurance programs.

Certifications and Licensures
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required within 12 months of hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required within 12 months of hire.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required within 12 months of hire.
Education and Experience

A minimum of an Associate's Degree in a healthcare-related field is required. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of clinical experience working in a medical center or similar setting.

Physical and Mental Requirements

The successful candidate will be able to work in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple tasks, and interact with patients and staff in a professional manner. They will also be able to wear personal protective equipment and move freely about the facility.
