Position Overview
Amphibious Medics is actively seeking licensed Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners for both Full-Time and Per Diem roles as Advanced Practice Providers.

Role Responsibilities

The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) plays a crucial role in assessing and treating patients experiencing acute or chronic discomfort due to illness or injury within the on-site clinic's resources. This involves conducting patient interviews, reviewing medical histories, performing physical evaluations, and developing a differential diagnosis aimed at reaching a conclusive diagnosis. All services are delivered within the APP's scope, with the option for urgent consultation with the Amphibious Medics medical director when necessary. The APP operates independently on construction sites, providing first aid for injured workers, identifying potential safety hazards, and engaging in a site Health & Wellness program.

Key Duties
  • Collects comprehensive medical histories and physical data from patients, reviewing existing records.
  • Analyzes and integrates medical data.
  • Conducts physical examinations and documents findings accurately.
  • Creates a Differential Diagnosis list.
  • Occasionally, in collaboration with the medical director, orders off-site laboratory and diagnostic tests.
  • Utilizes data to formulate preliminary diagnoses and treatment plans.
  • Administers and manages medications as required.
  • Educates patients and families on medications, treatment protocols, and expected outcomes.
  • Consults with the medical director as needed.
  • Informs the medical director of any significant patient findings.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned in line with professional qualifications.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Triages patient phone inquiries as necessary.
  • Provides first aid and referrals to external medical providers when indicated.
  • Participates in mandatory medical and multidisciplinary meetings and training sessions.
  • Engages in committees upon request.
  • Involves in professional development activities and maintains relevant affiliations.
  • Assists in organizing health fairs on-site.
  • Conducts regular medical and safety awareness sessions with construction personnel.
  • Manages on-site inventory, ensuring supplies are restocked and equipment is maintained.
  • Communicates with external medical providers regarding worker injuries and recovery progress.
  • Ensures patient confidentiality is upheld.
  • Adheres to all clinic policies.
  • Submits daily activity reports to safety and management teams.
  • Conducts frequent site visits to engage with workers and management.
Qualifications

Requirements
  • Minimum of one (1) year of direct patient care experience.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with team members.
  • Must hold a valid Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner license.
  • Capability to lift and carry at least 35 lbs.
  • Ability to stand or walk for a minimum of five hours during a workday.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Education/Certification
  • Possession of a valid Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner license.
  • Current CPR certification at the Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider level (American Heart Association) or Professional Rescuer (American Red Cross).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with OSHA regulations, particularly 29 CFR 1910.
  • Background in large-scale construction environments.
  • Familiarity with the workers' compensation claim process.
  • Instructor certification for First Aid, CPR, and AED training.
  • Active OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
