Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Optical Manager to join our team at Walmart. As an Optical Manager, you will be responsible for driving sales in the Vision Center by ensuring effective merchandise presentation, accurate and competitive pricing, and proper signing and inventory levels. You will also be responsible for budgeting and forecasting sales, assessing economic trends and community needs, and modeling and enforcing customer service approaches and techniques.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive sales in the Vision Center by ensuring effective merchandise presentation, accurate and competitive pricing, and proper signing and inventory levels.
  • Budget and forecast sales, assess economic trends and community needs, and develop action plans to improve performance.
  • Model and enforce customer service approaches and techniques, and provide direction and guidance to associates on customer service.
  • Oversee the implementation of community outreach programs and encourage associates to serve as good members of the community.
  • Ensure compliance with company and legal policies, procedures, and regulations for the Vision Center.
  • Provide supervision and development opportunities for associates in the Vision Center, including hiring, training, mentoring, and assigning duties.
  • Ensure the provision of quality eyewear by consulting with and educating customers, selecting products based on customer needs, and maintaining confidential information.
Requirements
  • Completion of 2 or more years of college or 1 year's retail experience and 1 year's supervisory experience or 2 years' general work experience including 1 year's optical experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Current eligibility to work as an optician or apprentice optician under applicable state laws, regulations, and/or rules.
