About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Systems Administrator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for administering, maintaining, and providing production support for various systems, including Windows server, VMware vSphere ESXi, desktop PCs, and Amazon AWS. The ideal candidate will have advanced knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server, VMware ESXi, and Amazon AWS, as well as experience with scripting and automation tools.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Administer, maintain, and provide production support for Windows server, VMware vSphere ESXi, desktop PCs, and Amazon AWS.
  2. Engineer and implement new infrastructure solutions to meet business requirements.
  3. Provide technical support for network, security, and monitoring systems.
  4. Document project requirements, propose solutions, conduct budget and ROI studies, and participate in project planning and execution.
  5. Participate in the remediation of network and security environment issues to meet business requirements.
  6. Act as a subject matter expert for assigned back-end IT systems.
  7. Train and mentor other members of the IT department as necessary.
  8. Participate in daily system and backup checks.
  9. Perform upgrades, patches, and maintenance activities.
  10. Update procedures and documentation based on system changes.
  11. Help plan and operate disaster recovery tests.
  12. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

Requirements

  1. 5+ years of experience as a Windows System Administrator and/or Engineer.
  2. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server 2016, 2019, 2022, and Active Directory.
  3. Advanced knowledge of VMware ESXi / vSphere 7.0 or higher.
  4. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Exchange Online / Office 365.
  5. Knowledge of Amazon AWS (EC2, S3, CloudTrail, etc.).
  6. Powershell or other scripting / automation skills.
  7. Knowledge of VMware Horizon VDI System.
  8. Knowledge of networking and protocols.
  9. Experience with data center infrastructure and disaster recovery planning.
  10. Good organization and multi-tasking skills.
  11. Project Management skills.
  12. Knowledge of HP Tandem Nonstop System a plus.
