Transportation Specialist

Hawkins County Schools is seeking a qualified Bus Driver to transport students safely and efficiently to and from school. The ideal candidate will possess a CDL class B license with a PS endorsement and have at least 5 years of driving experience with an unrestricted operator's license.

• Transport students safely and efficiently to and from school
• Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the bus at all times
• Report any misconduct of students to the principal of the school
• Participate in the state-sponsored 24-hour driver training program
• Obey all state and local traffic regulations

• CDL class B license with a PS endorsement
• At least 5 years of driving experience with an unrestricted operator's license
• Annual physical examinations
• Random drug testing
• Background check

The Bus Driver will work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interactions with students, parents, and school officials. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team.

The Bus Driver will be required to wear a seatbelt at all times when such belts are provided and remain on the bus while students are on board.

The Bus Driver will be responsible for promoting safety habits with the group of students being transported and reporting any misconduct of students to the principal of the school.

The Bus Driver will be required to sweep and clean the bus at least once each day.
