Job Summary

The AC Wellness Network is seeking a skilled Nurse Practitioner to provide high-quality, patient-centered care to our employee population. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for delivering routine care and management of patients with acute and chronic complaints, in collaboration with our supervising physicians.

This is a fixed-term position with a schedule of 4x10 hours, Monday through Friday, from 7:30am to 6:30pm, with Thursdays off. The term of this role will be through August.

Key Responsibilities
  • Obtain complete histories and perform pertinent physical exams with assessment of normal and abnormal findings on new and returning patients.
  • Perform or request and evaluate diagnostic studies per project guidelines.
  • Administer, order, furnish, and prescribe medications per project guidelines.
  • Order and collect specimens for routine laboratory tests, screening procedures, and therapeutic procedures, including blood and blood products.
  • Obtain informed consent as indicated.
  • Recognize and consider age-specific needs of patients.
  • Focus on quality of care and the patient experience, including timeliness and effective communication.
  • Engage patients and practice medicine through telemedicine as needed.
  • Collaborate with team members to develop project guidelines and operational workflows as needed.
  • Evaluate and treat patients with acute, chronic complaints, and health maintenance concerns per written standardized procedures.
  • Act as a patient advocate for employees and family members in times of crisis and assist patients in finding care both internally and externally.
  • Participate in planning and training as assigned.
  • Recognize situations requiring immediate physician attention and initiate life-saving procedures when necessary.
  • Maintain the strictest confidentiality.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • 2 years of primary care clinical experience required.
  • Experience in real-time monitoring (ICU, stress tests, etc.) a plus.
  • Experience in conducting and/or monitoring research studies a plus.
  • Current Certification in Basic Life Support for healthcare providers required. ACLS certification desired.
  • Education: Master's or Doctorate Degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university required.
  • License/Certification: CA Registered Nurse (RN) required.
  • License/Certification: Certification as a Nurse Practitioner by a nationally recognized nursing organization required.
  • License/Certification required for direct patient care roles: DEA Number from the US Drug Enforcement Administration required.
  • Comfortable with change and willingness to work in a non-traditional practice model.
  • Must be flexible with regard to physician practice models and clinic schedule.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work well within a team.
  • Personal and professional integrity of the highest order.
