As a Senior Electrical Power Systems Engineer at Blue Origin, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of space exploration. We are seeking a highly skilled professional to develop and lead high and low voltage electrical power systems for our spacecraft.

The Role

You will be responsible for designing and owning high and low voltage electrical power systems from concept to production. This includes developing, leading, and owning high and low voltage avionic designs that interact with electrical power consumers. You will also support power regulation and distribution architecture trade studies, analyses, performance characterization, and specification, device selection, and product roadmap direction.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop high reliability safety-critical, Class 2/3 board assemblies; familiarity with IPC-A-600/610, DO-254, and similar standards.
  • Participate in program level technology development, mission assurance, and safety initiatives, and avionics development process improvements.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or related disciplines.
  • A breadth of understanding in electronics hardware development such as developing high voltage switching, high voltage and power regulation, or other advanced electronic commercial or aerospace products.
  • Experience with analog, digital, or mixed-signal circuit design, including analysis, simulation, test, troubleshooting, and part selection.
  • Familiarity with common communication methods, such as RS232, RS422, I2C, SPI, LVDS, Ethernet, CAN, or PCIe.
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and supply to a culture of collaboration.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master of Science in Electrical Engineering or related disciplines.
  • Successful Candidates typically have 5 to 10 years of experience in design, development, test, and operation of vehicle Avionics systems.
  • Basic or better knowledge of radiation effects on electronics and how to apply this to designs targeting space applications.
  • Demonstrated experience designing high reliability safety-critical, Class 2/3 board assemblies; familiarity with IPC-A-600/610, DO-254, and similar standards.
  • Electrical Design and Analysis tools: LTSpice, PSpice, SIMetrix/SIMPLIS, Simscape.
What We Offer

Compensation Range for CA applicants is $128,430.00-$179,802.00; CO applicants is $117,727.50-$164,818.50; WA applicants is $128,430.00-$179,802.00.
