About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Mental Health Specialist to join our team at the Veterans Health Administration. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality mental health services to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and diagnose mental health conditions in patients
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address patient needs
  • Provide evidence-based psychotherapies, including cognitive-behavioral therapy and psychodynamic therapy
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care and treatment plans
Requirements
  • Doctoral degree in psychology from an accredited institution
  • Current licensure to practice psychology in the state of Illinois
  • Experience working with patients with mental health conditions, particularly those with spinal cord injuries
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
