Job SummaryThis Patient Care Assistant position offers a unique opportunity to work alongside our experienced healthcare professionals in a fast-paced environment. As a key member of the patient care team, you will assist nurses in delivering high-quality care to our patients, adhering to established policies and procedures.
Responsibilities- Perform supportive patient care duties, including ADLs, patient hygiene, vital signs, obtaining weights, emptying and documenting intake and output, performing phlebotomy and glucometer testing, EKGs, positioning, lifting, and ambulation of patients.
- Transport patients, medications, supplies, and specimens as requested.
- Record nursing care activities, such as changes in a patient's condition and behavior, consistent with established policies, procedures, and protocols, as delegated by the registered nurse responsible for the patient.
- Maintain supplies and equipment according to hospital and department policy and procedure.
- Document observations and activities on appropriate records and documents; report findings to the registered nurse.
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Six months of Nursing Assistant/Health Aid experience or currently enrolled in LPN/RN nursing program preferred.
- AHA Heartsaver AED certification required; non-licensed individuals must obtain certification before the end of orientation.
- Proficient in English, verbal and written communication.
- Successful completion of the Capital Health UAP Training program within 90 days of employment.
The estimated annual salary for this position is around $45,000-$60,000, depending on experience. Offers are contingent upon successful completion of our onboarding process and pre-employment physical. Capital Health requires all applicants to have an annual flu vaccine prior to start date, with exceptions for medical and religious exemptions.
