About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Director to join our team at Adverum Biotechnologies, Inc. in a Medical Affairs role. This position will report to the VP of Medical Affairs and will be responsible for leading scientific conversations with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Scientific Leadership: Lead and develop scientific strategies to support clinical trials, pre-launch, and launch activities.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain professional relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and other healthcare professionals in ophthalmology, specifically retina.
  • Scientific Communication: Assist in developing and reviewing materials for medical and scientific communications, including publications and presentations.
  • Advisory Boards: Lead and develop advisory boards and steering committee meetings, including key internal stakeholders.
  • Clinical Trial Management: Manage and lead Phase 4 and investigator-initiated studies, including site visits and clinical trial site relationships.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with Clinical Development and Operations to identify potential clinical trial sites, support feasibility assessments, and site initiations.
  • Enrollment Strategies: Help drive clinical trial enrollment by collecting insights from clinical trial investigators and sharing those with internal stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Education: Terminal degree required (PharmD, PhD, MD, or equivalent).
  • Experience: Minimum two years previous medical affairs experience, with ophthalmology or gene therapy experience highly desired.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and presentation skills, ability to learn other disease states, and working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Personal Qualities: Self-starter, self-motivated, and a strong team player with excellent time management and ability to work independently.
