Pharmacist PRN Evening Position

As a Pharmacist Per Diem Evening, you will provide consultative services to medical, nursing, and pharmacy staff, ensuring the safe and effective use of medications. You will interpret physician medication orders, act as a drug information resource, and compound and dispense prescribed medications.
Responsibilities:- Process physician drug orders, evaluating them for safety and efficacy, and ensuring accuracy in computer entry and review.
- Follow through with necessary actions for orders not consistent with practice standards or policies and procedures.
- Record interactions with physicians and nurses regarding medication orders.
- Monitor physician medication orders for consistency and appropriateness with patient age.
- Provide information on medication use, drug interactions, side effects, dosage, and storage to healthcare professionals.
- Dispense controlled substances after proper documentation and record keeping.
- Complete monthly perpetual inventory checks and area inspections as assigned.
- Correct noted deficiencies and instruct students and medical personnel on pharmacy matters.
- Participate in department management, provide input at meetings, and read communication.
- Mentor new and less experienced staff and students, and adjust work schedules to departmental needs.
- Identify and propose solutions for improvement in patient care and departmental operations.
- Current Pharmacist license in the State of Arizona.
- Graduate of an Accredited School of Pharmacy.
- Prefer one year of acute care experience, but will consider new graduates.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with occasional periods of above-average pressure.
- Basic computer skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Effective interpersonal skills and ability to work with team members.
