About the Role:
This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic team, leveraging your expertise to resolve complex conflicts and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. As a key member of the conflicts clearance team, you will provide critical support to the global head of conflicts clearance, evaluating transactions, and determining what names should be placed on the firm's restricted or control lists. Your exceptional analytical skills will enable you to identify potential transactional conflicts, escalate them accordingly, and formulate recommendations for addressing these issues. Additionally, you will communicate with other legal and compliance groups, deal teams, and external parties to determine when companies should be added to or removed from the firm's control lists.

Responsibilities:
- Evaluate potential transactions to determine what names should be placed on the firm's restricted or control lists.
- Provide critical support to the global head of conflicts clearance team.
- Serve as the conflict clearance team's primary point of contact for the EMEA/APAC regions.
- Identify potential transactional conflicts and escalate accordingly to the appropriate legal and business contacts.
- Communicate with other legal and compliance groups and deal teams to determine when companies should be added to or removed from the firm's control lists (e.g., MNPI/inside information assessment).
- Analyze the firm's touchpoints with companies to determine the existence of potential conflicts of interest.
- Formulate recommendations for addressing potential conflicts of interest.
- Document analysis for clearing conflicts.
- Obtain deal updates from the investment teams.
- Evaluate and manage wall-crossing requests.
- Review trade pre-clearances from public side businesses.
- Assist with personal trading pre-clearances as needed.
- Enhance the firm's systems for documenting conflicts checks and the restricted list/watch list.
- Draft and coordinate firmwide responses to regulatory examinations.

Qualifications:
To succeed in this role, you will need a Bachelor's degree or equivalent, along with 10+ years of work experience at a major financial services firm in the control room and/or conflicts management group, or relevant legal and compliance experience. You should also possess strong analytical and issue-spotting skills, the ability to communicate confidently and effectively, and a keen attention to detail. Additionally, you should be able to work independently but still be a strong team player, with substantial initiative, creativity, and drive.
