Social Media for Journalism and Communications Position

We seek an experienced journalist or communications professional to teach our course on Social Media for Journalism and Communications. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in social media, with experience in integrating social media into all aspects of their work.

This is a part-time adjunct instructor/professor position, teaching Intermediate Broadcast Journalism in the Spring 2025 semester. The course is taught in person, with flexible scheduling options to accommodate your needs.

The University of La Verne offers a competitive salary and benefits package. As an adjunct professor, you can expect a salary range of $28.13-$29.21 per hour, depending on your qualifications and experience.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain syllabus materials, including tests, assignments, and online discussion exercises.
  • Facilitate class instruction, teaching the assigned course in accordance with learning objectives and session plan outlines.
  • Evaluate student performance based on course deliverables and course rubrics.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Journalism.
  • Professional journalism experience of at least 5 years.
  • Preferred qualifications include a Master's Degree in Journalism.
