Job Title: Nurse Practitioner-Endocrinology

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Nurse Practitioner to join our Endocrinology team at Lincoln Medical and Mental Health Center, a premier acute care hospital in New York City.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will provide comprehensive care to patients with endocrine disorders, collaborating with our multidisciplinary team of endocrinologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to promote patient education and self-management, and optimize health outcomes for individuals across the lifespan.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients presenting with endocrine-related concerns, including medical history reviews, physical examinations, and interpretation of diagnostic tests and laboratory results.
  • Collaborate with endocrinologists and other healthcare providers to formulate individualized treatment plans for patients with endocrine disorders, incorporating evidence-based guidelines and best practices.
  • Provide education and counseling to patients and their families on the nature of their endocrine condition, treatment options, medication management, lifestyle modifications, and self-care strategies.
  • Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as indicated, including but not limited to hormone level monitoring, insulin administration, thyroid ultrasound-guided biopsies, and interpretation of bone density scans.
  • Monitor patients' response to treatment and disease progression over time, adjusting management plans as needed to achieve optimal clinical outcomes and improve quality of life.
  • Coordinate care across healthcare settings and specialties, facilitating referrals to other healthcare providers or ancillary services as appropriate to address patients' holistic needs.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, case conferences, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance the delivery of patient-centered care and promote continuous improvement in clinical practice.
Requirements:
  • A valid New York State license and current registration to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse issued by the New York State Department of Education (NYSED); and
  • Current certificate as a Nurse Practitioner issued by the NYSED; and
  • Holds, or obtains through facility orientation, a valid and current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA).
