Job Summary

This is a challenging and rewarding role for a Registered Nurse to join our team at Ochsner LSU Health System of North Louisiana. As a Nurse in the Medicine ICU, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Assess and prioritize patient needs, developing and implementing individualized care plans to meet those needs.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, monitoring patient responses and adjusting care plans as needed.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care, including physicians, therapists, and other nurses.
  • Provide education and support to patients and families, promoting health and wellness and empowering them to take an active role in their care.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development and implementation of evidence-based practices that improve patient outcomes.
Requirements
  • Current RN license in the state of Louisiana.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
  • One year of experience in a critical care setting, preferably in an ICU.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
