Position Summary:
The MRI Imaging Specialist is responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures utilizing MRI technology to gather and assess patient data.

Work Schedule:
Rotating hours, including on-call duties and holidays. This role is eligible for a commitment incentive of $15,000, distributed over a three-year work commitment in equal installments after every six months of service.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Patient Interaction:
    Utilizes professional demeanor to verify patient identity, gather medical history, and provide assistance to patients and their families, ensuring understanding and safety.
  2. MRI Operations:
    Demonstrates expertise in MRI technology and human anatomy. Operates MRI scanners competently, administers contrast agents, and maintains ARRT certification through continuing education.
  3. Contrast Administration:
    Administers oral and intravenous contrast agents according to established protocols, ensuring patient safety and compliance with eligibility criteria.
  4. Image Management:
    Maintains proficiency in PACS, ensuring accurate transmission of images to quality control and electronic medical records. Verifies and segments images appropriately.
  5. Additional Duties:
    Completes tasks efficiently, maintains a clean work environment, and participates in training new staff and students.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    Completion of an accredited Radiological Science program or expected completion within three months of application.
  • Licensure/Certification:
    Must be registered or registry-eligible with the American Registry of Radiological Sciences. Advanced certification in MRI is required within one year of employment.
  • Experience:
    Prior education and training that equip the candidate to perform assigned tasks effectively.
