Position Summary:
The MRI Imaging Specialist is responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures utilizing MRI technology to gather and assess patient data.
Work Schedule:
Rotating hours, including on-call duties and holidays. This role is eligible for a commitment incentive of $15,000, distributed over a three-year work commitment in equal installments after every six months of service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Interaction:
Utilizes professional demeanor to verify patient identity, gather medical history, and provide assistance to patients and their families, ensuring understanding and safety. - MRI Operations:
Demonstrates expertise in MRI technology and human anatomy. Operates MRI scanners competently, administers contrast agents, and maintains ARRT certification through continuing education. - Contrast Administration:
Administers oral and intravenous contrast agents according to established protocols, ensuring patient safety and compliance with eligibility criteria. - Image Management:
Maintains proficiency in PACS, ensuring accurate transmission of images to quality control and electronic medical records. Verifies and segments images appropriately. - Additional Duties:
Completes tasks efficiently, maintains a clean work environment, and participates in training new staff and students.
Qualifications:
- Education:
Completion of an accredited Radiological Science program or expected completion within three months of application. - Licensure/Certification:
Must be registered or registry-eligible with the American Registry of Radiological Sciences. Advanced certification in MRI is required within one year of employment. - Experience:
Prior education and training that equip the candidate to perform assigned tasks effectively.
Work Environment:
