Summary:
We are seeking a motivated Inpatient Coding Specialist dedicated to optimizing reimbursement through precise coding practices while maintaining a high-quality clinical database for patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assign ICD10CM and PCS codes to inpatient hospital visits, ensuring accurate documentation of diagnosis and procedures.
- Conduct thorough reviews and evaluations of medical records and computer-assisted coding suggestions to guarantee the correct assignment of ICD codes, present on admission indicators, and hierarchical condition categories, ensuring accurate DRG assignments.
- Achieve a minimum accuracy rate of 95% during audits.
- Maintain a productivity level of 2.75 charts per hour following the training period.
- Perform data analysis specific to hospital inpatient coding.
- Accurately code patient records across various clinical areas, focusing on inpatient services.

Qualifications:
- Certification as CCS, RHIT, or RHIA
- A minimum of 2 years of recent experience in acute care inpatient coding
- Preferred experience with Epic and 3M 360 CAC systems
- Associates or Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management is preferred but not mandatory
