**Job Summary**

As a key member of the nursing care team at the University Medical Center of El Paso, the Float Certified Nursing Assistant, PRN will participate in the implementation of select components of the patient's plan of care as delegated by the Registered Nurse, Charge Nurse, Nurse Manager, and department Director. This individual will promote exceptional customer service with patients and their families and make recommendations for improved patient care and the promotion and maintenance of a safe, cost-effective healthcare environment.

**Key Responsibilities**

1. Provide exceptional patient care and support to patients and their families.

2. Collaborate with the nursing care team to implement select components of the patient's plan of care.

3. Promote a safe and cost-effective healthcare environment.

4. Develop and maintain effective interpersonal relationships with patients, families, and healthcare team members.

5. Utilize effective oral and written communication skills to communicate with patients, families, and healthcare team members.

6. Function effectively in a challenging environment and adapt to changing situations.

7. Maintain current knowledge of medical terminology and nursing practices.

8. Utilize technology components, software, and/or programs to document data into electronic health records.

9. Possess bilingual English/Spanish language skills, preferred.

**Requirements**

1. Six months of experience as a Nursing Assistant required.

2. Current Texas Certified Nursing Assistant certification.

3. Current CPR training program.

4. CPI training required or obtained within 6 months of being in the position.

5. High school graduate or equivalent.

6. Completion of a state-approved Nursing Assistant training program.
