Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced House Supervisor RN to join our team at Ascension Health. As a key member of our nursing leadership team, you will be responsible for supervising and coordinating unit staffing, providing leadership, and ensuring the implementation of clinical objectives and quality patient care in assigned areas.

Responsibilities
  • Assign, direct, educate, and monitor nursing and support staff during assigned shifts.
  • Contribute to or perform performance evaluations of staff.
  • Assess daily patient care needs and develop and distribute patient care assignments, ensuring that population-appropriate patient care is given.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of patient care and identify any issues that affect desired patient outcomes.
  • Respond to complaints about patient care and manage through established channels.
Requirements
  • Licensure/Certification/Registration: BLS Provider obtained within 1 month of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted. Registered Nurse credentialed from the Illinois Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • Education: Required professional licensure/certification and 1 year of cumulative job-specific experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Hospital nursing experience strongly preferred.
  • Three years of experience in Med/Surg, Telemetry, ICU, or ED is strongly preferred.
  • Critical thinking, assessment skills, customer service skills strongly preferred.
