Correctional Officer

We are seeking highly skilled and motivated individuals to fill Correctional Officer positions in our adult jail facility. As a Correctional Officer, you will play a vital role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for staff and inmates.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Perform security rounds during scheduled and unscheduled times.
2. Create and maintain a cell block atmosphere conducive to respect among inmates.
3. Enforce disciplinary sanctions and maintain appropriate boundaries with inmates.
4. Initiate and monitor inmate movement, recognizing abnormal or inappropriate behavior.
5. Respond to emergencies, including medical emergencies, and dispense medications as required.
6. Document incidents, movement, rounds, and inmate discipline.
7. Perform person, property, and facility searches.
8. Read, comprehend, and process legal and non-legal documents.
9. Operate department computer programs and dictate/type reports.
10. Communicate effectively with the public, staff, inmates, and in court or other formal settings.
11. Attend shift briefings, division meetings, and participate in required training to maintain certified status.
12. Maintain the integrity, professionalism, values, and goals of the Sheriff's Office.

Benefits Package:

• A competitive salary range of $25.53-$60,000+ per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
