Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse to join our team at Wythe County Community Hospital. As an ICU Nurse, you will provide direct patient care to critically ill patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality patient care to critically ill patients, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, and monitor patients for adverse reactions.
- Perform various medical procedures, such as inserting IV lines, administering blood transfusions, and performing cardiac rhythm interpretations.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia or Compact licensure.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications within 90 days of hire.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make sound decisions in high-pressure situations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- One year of experience in an Intensive Care Unit or Critical Care Unit.
- Ability to float to various clinical areas, where qualified and competent.
