Job Title: Screenwriting Instructor
Job Summary: The University of Pittsburgh is seeking a highly qualified Screenwriting Instructor to join our Film and Media Studies Program. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for teaching a variety of introductory and intermediate screenwriting courses, as well as other production courses depending on your experience and background.
Responsibilities:
- Teach screenwriting courses, emphasizing the intersection of technical production skills, storytelling skills, and the history and theory of moving image media.
- Develop and implement curriculum in screenwriting and film and media production.
- Contribute to the program's commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Requirements:
- BA/BFA degree in screenwriting, film and media production, or a related field.
- Demonstrable experience writing for television or feature films.
- Preferred requirements: MFA in screenwriting or film and media production, or an MFA or Ph.D. in a related field, and at least 1-year teaching introductory or intermediate screenwriting in a post-secondary setting.
