About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated Autism Therapist to join our team at Piece by Piece Autism Centers. As a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), you will work one-on-one with children and adolescents diagnosed with autism in schools in and around the Plainfield, IN area.

Responsibilities:

  • Support classroom teachers in providing a safe, organized environment for effective learning to occur
  • Teach expressive and receptive communication skills through the use of applied behavior analysis and verbal behavior techniques as outlined in the client's daily lesson plan
  • Teach daily living skills such as dressing, toileting, hand washing, toothbrushing, feeding, and other hygiene related tasks
  • Enter data on teaching trials and behavior goals into Catalyst, an iPad program
  • Follow individualized behavior plans written by the client's Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and IEPs written by the child's interdisciplinary team
  • Communicate with teachers, paraprofessionals, and caregivers through objective, data driven notes
  • Uphold the Registered Behavior Technician Ethics Code

Requirements:

  • A high school diploma or GED (per BACB licensure requirements)
  • Be at least 18 years of age (per BACB licensure requirements)
  • Active RBT certification from the BACB
  • Clear background check
  • Ability to assume and maintain a variety of postures (i.e. kneeling, sitting – in both a chair and on the floor, squatting, standing, etc.) for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • CPR and First Aid certification
  • Safety Care training
