GENERAL OVERVIEW:


Under the guidance of senior leadership, including the Vice President and Director, the individual in this role is dedicated to overseeing activities related to clinical research operations.

This position provides clinical oversight and collaborates with nursing staff, the healthcare team, and management to ensure high-quality patient care is delivered in alignment with the policies and procedures of the Henry Ford Health System.

The role promotes the adoption of innovative patient care delivery models and fosters a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach to the ongoing enhancement of patient care services.

Additionally, this position may represent the department or specialty on various internal and external committees and within the broader community. The focus of this role is approximately 80% on operational management and 20% on strategic initiatives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operations 1. Oversees the daily management of the team, including research operations, administrative functions, and staffing activities. 2. Develops and implements business strategies and objectives. 3. Conducts personnel management tasks such as recruitment, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions when necessary. 4. Encourages the professional development and advancement of registered nurses. 5. Ensures the implementation and maintenance of all clinical competencies for the team. 6.

Monitors adherence to all regulatory standards, including those set by The Joint Commission, OSHA, MIOSHA, MDPH, and Nursing Practice standards, to guarantee that appropriate policies, procedures, and protocols are established and maintained throughout the department/clinic. 7.

Responsible for the upkeep and functionality of all equipment.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or a related field is required. A Master's Degree in Nursing, Business Administration, Health Care Administration, or a comparable field is preferred.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience in a leadership role overseeing a project or team. Experience in research and leadership is preferred.
  • At least five (5) years of clinical nursing experience.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills.
  • Proficient in both written and verbal communication to effectively support, guide, and collaborate with staff, leadership, physicians, and various external stakeholders.
  • Competency in computer applications, including word processing and spreadsheet software.

CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES REQUIRED:

  • Current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Michigan.
  • Successful completion of the Henry Ford Medical Group Pharmacology assessment.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
