Job Overview

The Senior Accounting Specialist plays a crucial role within MRC Entertainment's Finance Department, reporting directly to the VP, Controller. This position collaborates with various teams across Film, Television, and Shared Services, engaging in all areas of corporate accounting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation and execution of quarterly and monthly financial closes, ensuring timely management reporting and analysis.
  • Contribute to the development of quarterly financial statements, annual disclosures, and third-party reporting requirements.
  • Support the annual financial statement audits and third-party participation audits.
  • Conduct account reconciliations, resolve discrepancies, and perform cash forecasting.
  • Monitor and report on financial commitments.
  • Identify opportunities for process enhancements and implement improvements.
  • Engage in ad-hoc projects as required.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in Accounting, with public accounting experience preferred; CPA or CPA in progress is advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP accounting principles and experience in preparing financial statements.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software such as Great Plains and Concur.
  • Exceptional analytical, quantitative, and communication skills, with the ability to manage details while maintaining a broader perspective.
  • A strong desire to learn and a passion for the entertainment industry.
  • Familiarity with ASC606 revenue recognition for Film and TV license agreements is a plus.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.

The salary range for this position is $67,000 - $70,000 annually, with starting pay determined by various job-related factors, including market demand, experience, and education.
