Role Summary

The Toyota Financial Savings Bank (TFSB) Finance Department is in search of a dedicated and driven Senior Analyst for Internal Controls and Governance. This role is crucial for the daily management of the Bank's internal control initiatives, including compliance with SOX and FDICIA regulations, focusing on the design, evaluation, and enhancement of management controls.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of risk-based internal controls, clearly defining objectives and scopes for each risk and control matrix, utilizing critical thinking and effective self-assessment methodologies.
  • Evaluate and design internal controls, providing actionable recommendations for enhancements.
  • Collaborate with internal and external auditors to coordinate assessments of the control environment, ensuring timely execution of process walkthroughs and resolution of potential issues.
  • Offer recommendations to improve controls, processes, and procedures to ensure compliance with SOX and FDICIA while achieving operational effectiveness.
  • Document and maintain comprehensive business process maps, data lineage, process narratives, control descriptions, and risk and control matrices to guarantee accuracy and completeness.
  • Work closely with business units to ensure timely remediation of SOX and FDICIA controls.
  • Prepare management updates, including remediation plans for control issues.
  • Develop processes and policies for reporting findings effectively.
  • Assess the adequacy of management's corrective actions for reporting deficiencies, ensuring satisfactory resolutions.
  • Assist in monitoring the operating effectiveness of the internal control framework, ensuring periodic testing and reporting on status.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is required.
  • Significant experience in internal controls, audit, or risk management is essential.
  • Experience with Sarbanes-Oxley compliance is required.
  • Strong communication skills to articulate financial reporting processes and control assessments clearly.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the financial services or banking sector.
  • Familiarity with FDICIA regulations.
  • Professional certifications such as CPA, CIA, or CISA are advantageous.
  • Experience with governance, risk, and compliance technology solutions is a plus.
