Job Summary:As a Regulatory Affairs Specialist at Hitachi Astemo Ohio Manufacturing, Inc., you will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with company policy and government requirements for import/export transactions. This position involves providing guidance, instruction, and document completion to ensure seamless operations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Evaluate Customs Broker performance and manage compliance for import/export.
• Assign HTS classifications for new components, finished goods, machines/equipment, vehicles, and other company imported goods.
• Utilize the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) for export control and assign appropriate ECCNs for export compliance.
• Provide instructions to shipping and freight forwarders for export transactions.
• Generate export control documents and oversee Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT) company policies.
• Maintain internal local content database by acquiring country of origin information from suppliers and ensure accurate country of origin information in the shipping database/ERP system.
• Create and report local content reporting programs (USMCA, AALA, CAFE, Manufacturers Affidavit, etc.).
• Ensure import/export document retention per company policy and conduct Import/Export training to new-hire employees.
Requirements:
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Project.
• Ability to work in a remote environment and travel domestically and internationally as needed.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
