Key Responsibilities
  • Project Planning and Modeling: Develop and implement plans for water and wastewater treatment systems, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Design and Development: Design and develop water and wastewater processes, including process equipment selection and specification.
  • Cost Estimation: Develop opinions of probable project cost, ensuring accurate and reliable estimates.
  • Design Coordination: Coordinate design efforts with other disciplines, ensuring seamless project execution.
  • Process Sizing and Equipment Selection: Conduct process and equipment sizing calculations, selecting and specifying process equipment as needed.
  • Design Drawings and Specifications: Develop detailed design drawings and specifications, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Client and Site Visits: Visit clients, job sites, and consultant offices as needed to support project needs.
  • Project Management: Collaborate with project managers to develop and implement project plans, ensuring timely and within-budget project delivery.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Civil, or Chemical Engineering.
  • Experience: 5-8 years of experience in water and wastewater design, with progressive responsibilities.
  • Licensure: Professional Engineer (PE) licensure in North Carolina or ability to obtain licensure through comity.
  • Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to work in a team environment, and effective communication with clients, coworkers, and stakeholders.
