Job Summary

UPMC is seeking a skilled Ophthalmic Technician to support the UPMC Vision Institute at the Mercy Pavilion. This full-time position offers a unique opportunity to work in a state-of-the-art facility with a team of experts in ophthalmology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Obtain detailed patient information and perform diagnostic tests to aid in diagnosis and treatment
  • Refractometry, contact lens insertion and removal, pupillary assessment, and lensometry
  • Assist with maintaining office inventory, restocking exam rooms, and cleaning patient exam rooms
  • Visual fields, color testing, and ocular motility assessments
  • Assist with imaging, including OCT, fundus photos, and visual fields
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Experience as an Ophthalmic Technician or combination of related education and experience preferred
  • Valid CPR certification and Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
