Role Summary:

The Senior Project Manager, reporting directly to the President or designated supervisor, is tasked with the comprehensive management of multiple commercial roofing projects. This position demands extensive technical knowledge in commercial roofing and involves managing larger, more intricate projects while providing guidance to junior project managers and superintendents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise large-scale and complex roofing projects.
  • Collaborate with construction teams to develop detailed construction plans.
  • Work alongside the Safety team to create and enforce a thorough safety strategy.
  • Provide mentorship and training to project managers and superintendents as necessary.
  • Develop project timelines and phased plans.
  • Oversee job costs through regular reviews and assessments.
  • Manage workforce allocation on projects.
  • Coordinate project tasks to ensure successful completion within designated timelines and budgets.
  • Effectively interpret plans and specifications for new and reroofing projects.
  • Direct on-site project management, including the coordination and supervision of subcontractors.
  • Monitor and manage the performance of crews and subcontractors as needed.
  • Handle multiple projects simultaneously while prioritizing tasks effectively.
  • Foster client relationships to secure profitable repeat business during project management.
  • Participate in pre-job meetings to ensure smooth transitions from estimating to operations.
  • Prepare purchase order requests for review.
  • Engage in all pre-construction meetings.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with project stakeholders regarding scheduling.
  • Ensure accurate inventory of materials delivered to project sites.
  • Coordinate final inspections with clients and manufacturers, and inform estimating teams of project completion.
  • Complete project closeout documentation.
  • Ensure overall quality control across all projects.
  • Verify adherence to safety protocols as per Nations Roof policies.
  • Collaborate with the estimating team to provide insights during the bidding process.
  • Assist estimating with job walks and minor service projects as needed.
  • Supervise job sites as required.
  • Review and approve time sheets for payroll preparation.
  • Manage purchase orders within accounting software as necessary.
  • Provide leadership on behalf of the executive team.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Knowledge:

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Proficient in reading blueprints, shop drawings, and specifications.
  • Intermediate computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Capability to budget, assess departmental performance, and motivate team members.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, architecture, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience will also be considered.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in commercial roofing or related fields.
  • Experience with project management software such as Microsoft Project and Bluebeam is highly desirable.
