Job Title: Clinical Lab Assistant

Western Wisconsin Health is seeking a part-time Clinical Lab Assistant to join our team in our Lab department. The successful candidate will be responsible for specimen collection and processing, patient education, and analysis of waived testing. This position will serve patients in both the hospital and clinic setting, supporting clinical testing, general lab operations, and other tasks as deemed necessary to meet regulatory compliance, organizational/departmental goals, and to ensure the smooth and effective operation of the department.

Responsibilities:
  • Collect and process specimens for laboratory testing
  • Provide patient education on laboratory procedures and results
  • Analyze waived testing and report results
  • Support clinical testing and general lab operations
  • Perform other tasks as necessary to meet departmental goals and regulatory compliance
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Certification from the Board of Registry from ASCP or equivalent within 9 months of hire
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Vocational training in laboratory assistant, lab aide, or phlebotomy
  • 1+ years of laboratory experience or degree in a Laboratory Assistant program
  • CPR certification
Other Qualifications:
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient and business information
  • Display high standards of ethical conduct and behaviors
  • Exhibit excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and electronic medical records
  • Ability to manage patient expectations and provide consistent delivery of services
  • Ability to manage conflicting priorities and handle multiple tasks concurrently
Work Schedule:
  • Weekday hours: 10:30am - 7pm
  • Weekend and holiday rotation
