The Production Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and directing the activities of hourly personnel engaged in the operation of various machinery to produce components or finished goods. This role involves a range of responsibilities aimed at ensuring efficient production processes.
Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Evaluating work orders to estimate labor hours and develop machining schedules that align with both internal and external requirements.
- Possessing knowledge of product quality specifications.
- Collaborating with team members to ensure adherence to customer timelines.
- Conducting inspections and measurements of components to confirm compliance with specifications.
- Utilizing appropriate resources to adjust machinery and equipment for repairing products that do not meet quality standards.
- Modifying work procedures to align with production timelines.
- Formulating, proposing, and executing strategies to enhance production techniques, equipment efficiency, and product quality for ongoing improvement.
- Recommending modifications in working conditions and equipment usage to boost plant, department, or employee efficiency.
- Identifying and resolving work-related issues or assisting team members in troubleshooting challenges.
- Enforcing safety regulations and policies to ensure compliance across the organization.
- Maintaining records of time and production, while estimating, requisitioning, and inspecting materials.
- Fostering employee development through training, coaching, and performance assessments.
- Understanding, implementing, and sustaining all aspects of 6S methodology.
- Supervisors/Managers are accountable for guiding, directing, and evaluating their employees/shift during both regular and overtime hours.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in business management, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing supervision.
- Experience with mechanical power presses is advantageous.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles is preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
- Proven problem-solving abilities.
- Experience in production scheduling.
- Background in inventory auditing.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Experience with production improvement initiatives.
- Knowledge of manufacturing safety standards.
- Proficient in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, etc.).
