Key Responsibilities

  • Assist bartenders with opening and closing duties, including restocking the bar with supplies and ensuring that all equipment is in good working order.
  • Ensure the bar is well-stocked with beverages, including liquor, wine, and beer.
  • Check and maintain all bar equipment, including taps and appliances, to ensure they are functioning properly.
  • Keep the bar clean and organized, including wiping down surfaces, sweeping and mopping, and emptying trash receptacles.
  • Learn and memorize menu items and cocktail recipes to provide accurate information to guests.
  • Take orders, prepare drinks, and bus tables during peak hours.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, including answering questions, handling complaints, and maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory and usage to assist in the reordering process.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum age to serve alcohol required.
  • Courteous and friendly personality, with a professional appearance.
  • Knowledge of menu items, including beers, wines, cocktails, and liquors.
  • Basic math and computer skills.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a high level of energy and enthusiasm.

Working Conditions

  • This is a non-exempt position, with a variable schedule that may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • The physical demands of this role include standing, walking, and lifting up to 35 pounds.
  • The work environment is fast-paced and may be loud, with hazards including cuts, slipping, and tripping.
