Hospice Nursing Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Hospice Nursing Assistant to join our team at Verovian Nursing Agency in La Pine, Oregon. As a Hospice Nursing Assistant, you will play a vital role in delivering personalized and dignified care to patients and their families during a sensitive and profound time.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide support services to patients in their homes under the supervision of the Hospice RN.
- Assist patients in achieving physical and emotional comfort according to the Plan of Care.
- Help with therapeutic exercise, light household tasks, and ADLs.
- Recognize and report changes in condition to the RN.
- Monitor and report changes in patient condition to the registered nurse or hospice team members.
- Support patients and families in coping with the challenges of terminal illness, providing compassionate companionship and emotional support.
- Assist with documentation and maintaining accurate records of patient care activities.
Candidate Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a state-approved Certified Nursing Assistant program.
- Current certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) in the state of Oregon.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in hospice or palliative care.
- Compassionate and empathetic demeanor with a genuine desire to support patients and families during end-of-life care.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and reliable transportation for home visits.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact sensitively with patients and families from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team, including nurses, social workers, chaplains, and other healthcare professionals.
