Job Title: LGBTQ+ Peer Navigator

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as an LGBTQ+ Peer Navigator. As a Peer Navigator, you will play a vital role in supporting LGBTQ+ youth and families in our community.

About the Role

The Peer Navigator will provide individualized support to LGBTQ+ youth and families, addressing sensitive issues that disproportionately impact these communities. This includes coordinating immediate support services, providing affirming parenting skills coaching, and helping parents or legal guardians structure positive time with their child(ren).

Responsibilities
  • Provide tailored services to LGBTQ+ children, youth, and families, including training staff and volunteers on affirming practices and best practices for working with LGBTQ+ populations.
  • Support caregivers and youth during the coming out process, and oversee program staff and volunteers.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community partners to ensure access to resources and services for LGBTQ+ youth and families.
  • Participate in marketing and outreach efforts to promote the organization's services and engage with the community.
Requirements
  • Minimum of five (5) years' lived expertise as an LGBTQ+ youth in foster care, or five (5) years' experience providing tailored services to LGBTQ+ children, youth, and families.
  • Minimum level of a Bachelor's degree in psychology, child development, social work, sociology, or related field.
  • Bilingual Spanish preferred (verbal only).
  • Valid California driver's license for at least 5 years; current automobile insurance; have and maintain a clean driving record acceptable to the organization's insurance company.
