Job Title: Head Teacher

Trumbull Loves Children is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head Teacher to lead our childcare program. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the daily operations and management of the program at your assigned location.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and develop staff to ensure they meet TLC's philosophy, mission, and program needs.
  • Ensure the safety of all children enrolled in the program by enforcing TLC's center procedures.
  • Develop and implement daily plans for program activities that provide a broad range of options for children.
  • Interact with parents on a daily basis to maximize customer satisfaction with the operations and policies of the center.
  • Coordinate the daily operation of the center with the Program Director.
Requirements:
  • State of CT Head Teacher Certification for School Aged children.
  • CPR/First Aid Training.
  • Administration of Medication/EPI Training.
  • Twenty (20) years of age or older.
  • A high school diploma or equivalency certificate.
  • One of the following options:
    • Option (1): at least five hundred and forty (540) hours of documented supervised experience over a nine (9) month span of time.
    • Option (2): approval from the Department as head teacher prior to January 1, 1994.
    • Option (3): a four (4) year college degree in elementary education, recreation, group social work or a related field from an accredited institution of higher education.
