Responsibilities:
As a Refrigeration Maintenance Technician, your primary duties will include:
1. Ensuring the safe operation of all equipment and machinery, as well as the safe use of tools in the workplace.
2. Operating, repairing, and maintaining all assigned refrigeration equipment, including ammonia systems, compressed air, dehumidification systems, steam, cooling systems, plumbing, and more.
3. Troubleshooting and repairing electrical systems, controls, motors, pumps, and fans.
4. Identifying and resolving equipment malfunctions by evaluating performance issues, determining root causes, and implementing effective repairs to prevent future failures.
5. Collaborating with supervisors on both short-term and long-term repair strategies to minimize production downtime.
6. Completing all assigned work and preventative maintenance tasks promptly.
7. Adhering to all work instructions and maintaining accurate records to comply with OSHA, EPA, USDA, and company standards.
Qualifications:
To excel in this role, candidates should possess:
- A High School Diploma or GED, with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
- Preferred post-secondary education or trade certification.
- Desired proficiency in PSM/RMP and HAZMAT, along with universal HVAC certification.
- Experience with computerized tracking systems for logging work orders and preventative maintenance.
- Flexibility to work varying hours, including potential overtime.
Work Environment & Physical Demands:
The physical requirements for this position include:
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 75 pounds occasionally and up to 50 pounds regularly with assistance.
- Exposure to a plant environment that may include wet or humid conditions, extreme temperatures, and noise levels that can be loud.
- Frequent standing, walking, and using hands for handling or feeling, as well as the ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
