About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Recreation/Activity Therapist II to join our team at Saint John Hospital, Inc. in Leavenworth, KS. As a member of our clinical professional staff, you will play a vital role in creating a therapeutic environment that promotes rehabilitation and recovery for our patients.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive therapeutic recreation program that addresses the physical and emotional needs of our patients.
  • Design and lead activities that promote socialization, creativity, and skill-building, such as games, sports, music, and art therapy.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care coordination and patient-centered outcomes.
  • Conduct assessments and evaluations to identify patient needs and develop individualized plans.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families on coping strategies, stress management, and healthy lifestyle habits.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Recreation Therapy, Art Therapy, or a related field.
  • Minimum one year of experience in behavioral healthcare, rehabilitative, or SNF settings.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities.
