KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Lead Research Scientist will oversee several federally funded initiatives within the realm of reproductive biology and microphysiologic systems (MPS; organ-on-a-chip) in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. This position emphasizes efforts to mitigate the chances of preterm delivery, innovate MPS frameworks for preliminary drug evaluations, and assess a variety of pharmaceutical agents. The federally funded initiatives will carry out preliminary trials utilizing MPS models of the reproductive system (including placenta, fetal membrane, cervix, and uterus) that have been established and documented by the department.
- Serve as the project director and supervise federally funded initiatives.
- Engage in management discussions and deliver progress updates to funding agencies.
- Execute preliminary trials utilizing the reproductive MPS platform (organ-on-a-chip) that are already in place.
- Instruct postdoctoral and clinical fellows in diverse laboratory methodologies.
PhD degree with 3 - 5 years of relevant experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
PhD degree with over 3 years of experience in cellular and molecular biology research, along with proficiency in developing, evaluating, and employing organ-on-chip technology (MPS platform development and assessment) for various experiments utilizing cellular and molecular biological techniques.
