Job Title: Senior Systems Administrator

Join Avenu Insights & Analytics, a leading provider of public sector expertise and corporate capability, as a Senior Systems Administrator. In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operational readiness of Solano County Infrastructure Services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer and maintain the county's infrastructure, including servers, storage, and cloud services.
  • Respond to service requests and troubleshoot issues using the Service Now Ticketing system.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders at various levels of technical knowledge.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal system performance.
  • Manage on-premises and cloud infrastructure to meet SLAs and QOS.
  • Lead multiple projects simultaneously, from design to implementation.
  • Manage the lifecycle of compute and storage hardware/software, including implementation, testing, maintenance, upgrades/refresh, and decommissioning.
  • Document system topology and provide drawings as needed.
  • Produce clear, concise, and accurate technical documentation.
  • Manage asset inventory and work with IT Service towers to resolve complex issues.
  • Manage backup systems and participate in problem investigation of major incidents.
Requirements:
  • 10+ years of experience in a similar position and/or any combination of education and experience that clearly demonstrates the ability to perform the job duties.
  • At least one of the following certifications: Computer Science Degree, MCP, or equivalent role-based certifications in Windows Server, Microsoft Office 365, or Microsoft Azure.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Expert level of experience in Active Directory Domain Services, Entra ID / Azure AD, and Microsoft 365 Services.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft PKI, Certificate Authorities, and Azure cloud services.
  • Hands-on experience with VMWare vSphere, Cisco UCS platform, and Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager.
  • Excellent knowledge and experience with ITIL concepts for ITSM and ITOM.
