About the Opportunity

The City of Asheville is seeking a skilled Equipment Operator II to join our Public Works Department, Streets & Sidewalks Division. This full-time position involves operating a variety of heavy motorized equipment, including tractors, mowers, and stump grinders, to maintain the downtown area's beauty.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate heavy equipment to perform tasks such as tree and branch removal, mowing, and roadside mowing.
  • Transport equipment and materials as needed.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment.
Requirements
  • Valid North Carolina Commercial Driver's License (CDL Class - B).
  • Ability to operate a variety of heavy motorized equipment.
  • Physical stamina to perform manual labor in a fast-paced environment.
