Welding Inspector

Job Summary:

S&ME seeks an experienced NDT/NDE Certified Welding Inspector to join our team in Greensboro, North Carolina.

About the Role:

As a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI), you will lead metals technicians on complex projects, supervising other technicians and making technical decisions associated with project schedules. You will perform laboratory work and metals testing with minimal technical supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

• Field Expeditions: Conduct inspections and deploy non-destructive testing methods to uphold impeccable quality standards.
• Testing Assignment Coordination: Juggle testing assignments across projects, contributing to the success of each endeavor.
• Testing Gear Maintenance: Maintain testing equipment in working order and calibration.
• Effective Reporting: Craft detailed reports to communicate findings effectively.

Requirements:

• A High School Diploma/GED
• At least 2 years of NDT/NDE metals testing experience or an associate degree
• An AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification
• Achievement in ASNT Level II certification per ASNT-SNT-TC-1A in at least one method
• Safety, DDC, NDT, and Radiation Training
• Experience in the use of fall protection equipment and personal fall arrest systems

Working Conditions and Physical Demands:

You are willing and able to perform the physical demands of this position with the use of Company-provided Personal Protective Equipment.

• Ability to climb heights over 200 feet
• Working outdoors the majority of the time in varying weather conditions
• Routinely lifting and carrying 40-50lbs, (field/laboratory samples and equipment)
• Traveling out-of-town (typically overnight) for assignments as necessary
