Role Summary: The Residential Construction Superintendent is responsible for managing all on-site construction operations to ensure that projects are executed safely, on time, within budget, and in accordance with applicable building codes and regulations. This role demands outstanding leadership, organizational, and communication capabilities to effectively oversee construction teams and subcontractors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and coordinate all on-site construction processes from project start to finish.
  • Ensure adherence to project plans, specifications, building codes, and other regulatory standards.
  • Efficiently manage and schedule subcontractors, labor, and materials to uphold project timelines and financial constraints.
  • Conduct frequent site inspections to guarantee quality control and compliance with safety protocols.
  • Address any construction-related challenges, conflicts, or discrepancies that may occur throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Maintain effective communication with project stakeholders, including clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors.
  • Keep precise project documentation, including daily logs, progress reports, and change orders.
  • Provide regular updates on project progress to management and engage in project meetings.
  • Implement and enforce site safety measures to ensure a secure working environment for all personnel.
  • Guide, mentor, and supervise construction teams to uphold high standards of workmanship and productivity.
  • Collaborate with the project manager to anticipate project requirements, including workforce, materials, and equipment.
  • Promote the adoption of sustainable construction practices, where applicable.
  • Perform additional duties as directed by senior management.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
  • Demonstrated experience (X years) as a Construction Superintendent in residential building projects.
  • Comprehensive understanding of construction methodologies, building codes, and safety regulations.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management abilities.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency in construction management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to shifting priorities.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to various job sites as necessary.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry heavy items (up to 60 pounds) and perform tasks in diverse weather conditions.
  • Physical agility to navigate construction sites, climb ladders, and access confined spaces.
