About the Job

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Retail Security Specialist to join our team at Vets Hired. As a key member of our store team, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for our customers and associates.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintaining a Safe and Secure Environment: You will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our store, including monitoring for potential safety issues and removing clutter to ensure clear egress to emergency exits.
  • Developing Great Teams and Partnerships: You will provide excellent customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and resolving issues in a friendly and courteous manner. You will also be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with our store team and external partners.
  • Mitigating Theft and Fraud: You will monitor entrances and exits, as well as the sales floor, for potential theft and gather intelligence to impact shortage trends. You will also adhere to company policy for external theft response.
  • Minimizing Operational Shortage: You will increase store awareness on effective processes to minimize operational shortage and train and educate associates on shortage reduction initiatives.
Requirements:
  • Education: High school education or equivalent required, AA degree preferred.
  • Experience: One year retail supervisor experience or similar training preferred, one year loss prevention/security training preferred.
  • Licenses and Certifications: Active Security Guard License preferred.
  • Skills: Strong communication skills, ability to build and maintain relationships with the store team, excellent customer service skills, and proven ability to effectively resolve conflict.
Physical Requirements:
  • Consistent Timeliness and Regular Attendance: You must be able to consistently arrive on time and attend work regularly.
  • Physical Demands: You must be able to spend up to 100% of working time standing, walking, and moving around the store. You must also be able to raise or lower objects more than 25 lbs. from one level to another and regularly bend, stoop, or crouch.
