Job Title: Server

Wintzell's Oyster House is seeking a skilled and friendly Server to join our team

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide exceptional customer service by ensuring a warm and welcoming atmosphere for guests.
  • Answer questions about menu items, ingredients, and preparation methods to enhance the dining experience.
  • Greet newly seated guests promptly and take drink orders to set the tone for a memorable meal.
  • Deliver beverages and appetizers, take orders, and repeat orders for clarification to ensure accuracy.
  • Follow responsible serving practices to prevent intoxication and ensure guest safety.
  • Attend to guests' needs, check back regularly, and respond to additional requests to ensure satisfaction.
  • Maintain table appearance by pre-bussing, checking drink levels, and providing extra napkins as needed.
  • Offer coffee or dessert to increase sales and enhance the dining experience.
  • Total bills, present checks, and process payments efficiently and accurately.
  • Provide a warm farewell to guests and invite them to return.
  • Keep the server station clean, set up, and take down as needed.
  • Adhere to company sanitation procedures and maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and management to ensure seamless service.
Requirements:
  • Must be dressed neatly and well-groomed in company-approved uniform.
  • Must be able to operate the POS system, make change correctly, and execute credit card transactions accurately.
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds and deliver food and beverages on trays.
  • Must be able to respond calmly to difficult guests and notify a manager as needed.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods during a 6-8 hour shift.
  • Must be able to answer the phone with a professional greeting.
  • Must be able to read menus to sight-impaired guests.
  • Must be able to hear well in a loud environment.
  • Must be able to write or memorize orders accurately.
  • Must be able to effectively card guests who appear under 40 for alcohol purchases.
Additional Information:

Past customer service experience is preferred, but not required. Excellent customer service skills are essential for success in this role.
