Job Summary

This role is responsible for providing expert clinical pharmacy services to patients and healthcare teams at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital Stanford. The successful candidate will have a strong background in pharmacy practice, with a focus on clinical pharmacy services, medication therapy management, and patient education.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide authoritative professional guidance to staff on complex clinical pharmacy issues
  • Develop and conduct specialized education and public information classes in clinical pharmacy
  • Conduct clinical investigations of new drugs and medications
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to optimize medication use and patient outcomes
  • Develop and implement medication-related cost-savings initiatives
  • Participate in institution policy/procedure development and revision
  • Provide input on treatment protocols, unit-specific quality improvement, and formulary management
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Doctor of Pharmacy degree from a School of Pharmacy accredited by the American Council on Pharmaceutical Education
  • Completion of a PGY-2 Residency program with rotation and project/research work in clinical pharmacy
  • Two (2) years of related hospital experience
  • Licensure as a Pharmacist by the California Board of Pharmacy
  • Board Certification in Clinical Pharmacy
  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) Certification for Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers
