Salary Range

Our competitive salary range is between $46-58 per unit/visit, paid on a per-visit basis. This allows you to enjoy a good income while working in a rewarding field.

About the Job

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate behavioral health RN to join our team at Amedisys. As a Psychiatric Home Care Nurse, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of patients and their families providing much needed care where they want to be - in their homes.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough initial nursing evaluations to identify patient needs.
  • Evaluate patient physical and mental status to detect complications and medication side effects.
  • Monitor patient behavior to recognize changes in treatment modality.
  • Instruct patients and caregivers on various aspects of care, medication, and disease management.
  • Administer medications, perform lab tests, and collect specimens.
  • Cover coordination responsibilities for assigned patients.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation.
  • Oversee LPNs and HHAs.
  • Communicate regularly with the clinical manager, psychiatrist, and care team regarding patient progress.
Requirements

You must meet one of the following requirements:

  • RN with a master's degree in mental health nursing or psychiatric specialty and relevant experience.
  • RN with a bachelor's degree in nursing and one year of recent experience in a psychiatric setting.
  • RN with a diploma or associate's degree in nursing and two years of recent experience in a psychiatric setting.

Please note that recent experience should be within the last three to five years, unless documented psychiatric retraining or classes are completed.
