Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Cashier/Food Service Worker to join our team at Compass Group USA. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for operating the Point of Sale system, assisting the Chef, preparing coffee, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Help prepare foods such as meats, vegetables, baked goods, and desserts, as well as assist with catering orders.
  • Perform cashier duties using the POS system, maintaining cash accuracy and handling customer transactions.
  • Perform general cleaning duties, including removing trash and garbage to designated areas.
  • Provide exceptional customer service in all retail areas, including cashiering and line serving.
  • Inventory and restock supplies and food products as needed.
  • Set up serving lines, ensuring temperatures are taken and recorded, and notify cooks if food temperatures are not within acceptable limits.
  • Serve hot and cold items to customers, and set up items for purchase on a daily basis.
  • Keep refrigerators stocked and product rotated using the first-in, first-out rule.
  • Stock pantries with correct par levels of food items on a daily basis.
  • Record replenished amounts on floor stock forms for each unit.
  • Record refrigerator temperatures on floor stock forms daily.
Requirements:
  • Previous food service and cash handling experience is preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain a positive attitude.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
