Job Summary

Freedom Behavioral is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Activities Director to join our team. As a key member of our psychiatric program, you will be responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating medically approved activities for patients within our facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess patients' leisure, social, and recreation status as part of the overall biopsychosocial assessment process.
  • Formulate goals and interventions based on identified patient needs and recommend appropriate recreational activities.
  • Develop and lead groups aimed at enhancing patients' social, leisure, and physical needs.
  • Accurately document patients' responses to interventions and incorporate feedback into their plan of care.
  • Collaborate with the clinical department to provide comprehensive support to patients.

Requirements:

  • Four-year degree with a focus in recreational therapy or a related field, preferably with national certification in therapeutic recreation.
  • One year of experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a psychiatric program.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • National certification in therapeutic recreation.
  • Experience working with patients with psychiatric conditions.
